WSPL provided a complete CGD (City Gas Distribution) Enterprise Resource solution for complete distribution tracking, bill generation, bill distribution, collection centre management, online payment solution supporting Digital India promotions (BBPS, BHIM), Inventory etc..

OBJECTIVE

Main objective was to design and develop CGD ERP Business Transformation Strategy for modernizing and integrating various business processes and systems.

APPROACH

WSPL team implemented the Agile Software Development Methodology used to design a disciplined software management process that also allows some frequent alteration in the development project. It is used to minimize risks by developing software in short time boxes, which are called iterations, that generally last for one week to one month.

The plan consisted of delivering an easy-to-use, secure, and efficient CGD ERP portal to generate, print, distribute and collection of 60,000 customer bills per month.

CUSTOMER PROFILE

Vadodara Gas Limited (VGL), which is a joint Venture Company (JVC) of GAIL Gas Limited and ‘Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan (VMSS)’, was incorporated on 13th September, 2013 for city Gas Distribution in the city of Vadodara and its adjoining areas. VGL, the new JV Company will have an authorized share capital of ₹ 215 crore. The co-promoters of the JV Company shall have equal stake in the company.

Vadodara Gas Limited (VGL) also caters to the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) requirements of its consumers in domestic and Commercial Sectors. VGL supplies PNG to 76000 houses and 2800 commercial in the city through a 750 Km long PE Pipeline Distribution Grid and 07 District Pressure Regulating System. This network was originally built, owned and operated by Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan(VMSS).

VGL has planned to supply PNG to additional 5,00,000 domestic, 2000 commercial and about 1000 industrial consumers in the next five years by laying about 700 Km of PE Pipeline Distribution Network.
